Ellipsoidal head
This is also known as a 2:1 oval head. This head shape is more economical because the height of the head is only a quarter of its diameter. Its radius varies between the major axis and the minor axis.
Hemispherical head
A sphere is the ideal shape for the head because the pressure in the container is evenly distributed over the surface of the head. The head radius (R) is equal to the radius of the cylindrical part of the container.
Torispherical head
