EN 10305-1 specifies the
technical delivery conditions for seamless cold drawn steel tubes of circular
cross-section used for precision applications. The tubes are characterized by
accurately controlled dimensions, close tolerances and specified surface
roughness. The standard covers tubes with an outside diameter up to 380 mm.
EN 10305-1 tubes are
primarily precision carbon and low-alloy steel tubes rather than stainless
steel tubes. Common material grades include E215, E235 and E355. They are
widely used where dimensional accuracy, surface quality and consistent mechanical
properties are important.

Mechanical properties depend
on the delivery condition. The principal delivery conditions include cold
drawn, cold drawn and lightly cold worked, stress relieved, annealed and
normalized conditions.

Fabrication and Machining
EN 10305-1 tubes can be cut,
bent, formed, machined and fabricated according to the selected grade and
delivery condition.
Cold-drawn tubes supplied in
+C condition provide higher strength but have reduced formability compared with
annealed or normalized material. Where additional forming is required, an
appropriate delivery condition should be selected.
