  4. Steel type 621 complies with BS 1501-2:621.
  5. Steel type 622 complies with BS 1501-2:622/515.
  6. Where a maximum metallic aluminum (Almet) of 0.02% is specified, the total aluminum minimum content is deemed to satisfy the requirement provided it does not exceed the specified maximum. In case of dispute, the metallic aluminum content shall be determined.
  7. Re is the yield strength. For acceptance purposes, either the upper yield strength (ReH) or the 0.5% proof strength (Rt0.5) may be used.
  8. Rm is the tensile strength.
  9. A is the percentage elongation after fracture on a gauge length of L₀ = 5.65 √S₀, where S₀ is the original cross-sectional area of the gauge length.
